Takumi was awarded the MAPS Scholarship in Spring 2022 after recently graduating from the Master of Urban Design program at Carnegie Mellon University.

After receiving the MAPS Scholarship, Takumi shares that “as a recipient of the MAPS Scholarship, I hope that it leads to broader outreach not only in architecture, but also all aspirational fields where people of color are underrepresented. I am thrilled to be part of not just a moment, but a potential movement, and I am grateful for the honor.”
