chinaza okafor

Chinaza applied and was awarded the MAPS Scholarship as she was studying architecture at the University of Southern California where she’s developed a diverse portfolio of art, design, and architecture.

Chinaza volunteers as a writing tutor to middle and high school minority youth in Los Angeles to strengthen their writing skills in preparation for their college applications.

When Chinaza accepted her MAPS scholarship, she shared that the award meant: “I am recognized and seen as an individual striving to bridge the gaps with the divisions within society. I’m proud and grateful that my identity as a minority is supported and embraced by members of the field.”
